114,000 Honda Fit and HR-V vehicles recalled due to rearview camera problem – WFTV

A problem with the rearview camera is leading to the recall of more than 114,680 Honda vehicles, but the problem can be fixed with a software update.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the error could occur when the driver starts the vehicle with the key, as it is a design flaw that interrupts the audio display’s electrical circuit.

The recall affects some Honda Fit vehicles from 2018 to 2020 and HR-V vehicles from 2019 to 2022, which were recalled under the number 23V-046, the NHTSA said.

Dealers will update the software that controls the display audio unit free of charge. Owners will be notified of the recall by letter after July 8, but can also contact Honda directly at 888-234-2138. The internal recall designations are TIQ and DIR.
