Latham man arrested in connection with Albany murder

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) — Albany police announced an arrest has been made in connection with a murder that occurred on Broadway in May. Ulias Kornegay, 35, of Latham has been charged with first-degree murder.

At around 2 a.m. on May 24, police responded to the parking lot of Ciro’s Place on Broadway on reports of a shooting. Officers found the victim, 36-year-old Kwon Lillard, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene.

Further police investigation resulted in Kornegay being identified as a suspect in the shooting and was taken into custody by Albany police on Thursday morning. Kornegay was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court before being transported to the Albany County Jail.
