Las Vegas police dog dies after medical incident

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – A Las Vegas police dog died earlier this week as a result of a medical incident.

According to a Facebook post, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced that the dog died after a medical incident on Tuesday, June 4. The veterinarian is currently working to determine the cause of death.

Police said Ash was taken to hospital after the incident and was stabilized, but his condition soon deteriorated and he died.

“Ash will be missed by all who worked with him, and especially his partner and handler,” LVMPD said in the post.

Ash was a drug detection dog with the LVMPD for nearly 10 years. He also competed in the 2019 K9 Trials where he placed second in vehicle searches.
