Doctor at a state hospital suspended for referring patients to a private laboratory

ISLAMABAD: A doctor at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital has been suspended for referring a patient to a private laboratory for tests instead of using the hospital’s facilities, ARY News reported on Friday.

According to the details, Commissioner Rawalpindi visited the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where a doctor was suspended for referring a patient to a private laboratory for tests instead of using the hospital’s facilities. Similarly, two pharmacists and a nurse were also suspended for neglecting their duties.

The Commissioner of Rawalpindi ordered an investigation against Dr. Amjad Ali and others.

Meanwhile, a notice has been issued at DHQ Hospital regarding the suspension of these doctors and staff.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that negligence in providing necessary facilities to citizens will not be tolerated and that it must be ensured that the public receives the care it deserves without compromise.
