One dead after car accident on Thursday

MUSCLE SHOALS, Alabama (WHNT) – The Muscle Shoals Police Department (MSPD) reports that a man died following a car crash Thursday morning.

According to MSPD, Muscle Shoals police officers and the Muscle Shoals Fire Department responded to a crash in the 3400 block of East Sixth Street around 6:40 a.m.

The department said Williams Autry Dale Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene by Colbert County Deputy Coroner Matt Moore.

According to authorities, the accident occurred when Dale was driving his Nissan Maxima west on Sixth Street when he left the roadway and struck an embankment.

The MSPD sent its condolences to the Dale family.
