Arrest in connection with the stolen flamingo statue from Parma

PARMA, Ohio – Parma police have arrested three men after they allegedly removed and damaged the city’s famous pink flamingo.

The arrest came nearly five days after the suspects allegedly removed the flamingo that was sitting next to the “Parma” sign near the water playground on West Ridgewood Drive.

The flamingo was later recovered about 15 meters north of its original location, but was damaged.

The three men, identified as 25-year-old Taylor Pupkiewicz, 25-year-old Marcus Balue and 24-year-old David Burak, were charged with vandalism.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned at 11 a.m. in Parma Municipal Court before Judge Deanna O’Donnell.
