Washington police seek answers to who killed 16-year-old boy on V Street – NBC4 Washington

Washington, DC police are searching for the person who killed a 16-year-old boy north of U Street NW earlier this month.

The victim was Devon Sharp of Northwest DC.

Officers responded to a shooting at 1200 V Street NW around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. When they arrived, they found Sharp had been shot. He was taken to a hospital and died of his injuries two days later, police said.

Police did not release any further information about the shooting or a possible suspect. News4 attempted to contact Sharp’s family without success.

Anyone with potentially relevant information is asked to contact police. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered.

So far this year, 70 people have been killed in the borough, a 25% decrease from the same period last year, according to statistics from the Metropolitan Police Department. Reports of violent crime have dropped 27%.
