Woman shot by police in Redlands during domestic disturbance

REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA – A woman was shot by police during a domestic violence incident in Redlands Thursday night.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., Redlands Police were called to the 1000 block of Oxford Drive, where a person was reportedly inside a home armed with a knife.

The armed suspect, a 30-year-old woman from Redlands, reportedly confronted officers and refused to comply with their commands before she was shot, a police department statement said.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries, according to the department.

No further injuries were reported.

Two officers involved in the shooting have been placed on leave. Per protocol, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.

Neither the identity of the officers involved nor that of the victim was disclosed.
