Police believe child porn suspect may have used cheerleading business to lure young girls – NBC4 Washington

Virginia State Police believe a child pornography suspect posed as a private cheerleading coach to lure young girls.

Investigators arrested Jason Fragale, 38, at Orlando International Airport in February as he attempted to leave the country, police said. He faces 10 counts of child pornography-related offenses following an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Virginia State Police and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

According to the indictment, Fragale uploaded several images believed to be child pornography to the messaging app Kik. It also said Fragale called himself a pedophile and made comments about sexually abusing a child and wanting to do it again.

He operated the Crimson All-Star Cheerleading Club from an office in the Reston Town Center and also performed under an alias, police said.

“As far as we know, he created business cards under the alias ‘Jason Mariani’ that also said ‘USA Cheer,'” said Virginia State Police Special Agent in Charge Mike Bullock.

Records show the company was registered in Virginia but no longer exists and no longer has an office in Reston Town Center.

Police are investigating whether the business was ever legitimate or just a ploy to lure young girls.

“He was trying to get young girls to come to the Reston office for cheerleading coaching, cheerleading modeling and cheerleading measurements,” Bullock said.

Fragale has not been charged in connection with the cheerleading business, but police say anyone who met him under his cheerleading coach alias should contact police.

“Talk to your children,” Bullock said. “If they have had any interaction with this person, whether it was through ‘Jason Fragale’ or ‘Jason Mariani,’ please come forward.”

Fragale maintained residences in Florida and Leesburg. He was extradited to Loudoun County and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
