Southeastern Minnesota man killed in Minneapolis shooting

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KROC-AM News) – A southeast Minnesota man has died after being shot in Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police responded to a report of a shooting that occurred around 4:45 a.m. Friday morning and found a man in his 20s suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Responding officers provided assistance until emergency medical services arrived. According to a news release from the Minneapolis Police Department, the victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Spring Valley man identified as victim in fatal shooting in Minneapolis

The Hennepin County Coroner identified the fatal shooting victim as Da’Vonte Jovan Adams of Spring Valley. He was 28 years old and was shot in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue North.

A news release from the coroner’s office Sunday morning said he was pronounced dead in the operating room around 10:15 a.m. Friday morning.

His manner of death was ruled a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

The fatal shooting is being investigated by investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit. So far there have been no arrests.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about Friday morning’s fatal shooting to report it by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted electronically at www.CrimeStoppersMN.org. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
