One person was shot and another injured after shooting near the torchlight parade | Spokane News

SPOKANE, Wash. – Mayor Lisa Brown spoke out about the violence that occurred during the parade.

“I am saddened by the violence that occurred around the parade this evening. “My thoughts are with those injured, their families and everyone who witnessed this incident,” Brown said. “Violence like this should never happen, especially near a place where families gather to enjoy a community event. The incident does not appear to be related to the parade and I am grateful for the quick response from local law enforcement and first responders.”

One person was shot and another person was injured in a shooting at a store on the corner of West Sprague Avenue and North Washington Street Saturday evening, according to SPD.

SPD police officers were stationed along the entire route, making it easier to get to the scene of the accident quickly.

Two people are injured after a shooting during the Bundeswehr torchlight parade.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), two people were injured and taken to the hospital following a shooting at West Sprague Avenue and North Washington Street. The suspect has been arrested and detectives are on their way to the crime scene.

Police are currently moving the parade to Riverside.
