Heat warning triggers several warning days this week

PLAY IN THE MIDDLE. IF THAT’S THE WAY, PLAY OUTSIDE OF TOWN. SO. RIGHT. I KNOW WE HAVE THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE LATER THIS WEEK, ON THURSDAY. IT’S GONNA BE A LITTLE COOLER THERE ON THURSDAY. STILL A MID-35 DEGREES. STILL A WARNING DAY, BUT HOPEFULLY OUR TEMPERATURES WILL DOWN A LITTLE BY THE EVENING. BUT WE’LL STILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH SOME HEAT MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. WE’LL HAVE WARNING DAYS HERE. HIGH TEMPERATURES ON THE LOW SIDE, BELOW 35 DEGREES, HIGH SIDE NEAR 38 DEGREES. HEAT INDEX COULD BE 110 TO 115. SO JUST A REMINDER TO HAVE OUR KMBC NINE NEWS APP. THAT WAY YOU CAN GET THESE ALERTS. YOU CAN CHECK THE CONDITIONS. YOU CAN WATCH OUR NEWS RIGHT ON THE APP. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE SOME CLOUDS OVER US. STILL LOTS OF SUNSHINE. WE HAVE 78 DEGREES. IT’S GAY OUTSIDE. IT’S STAYING GAY ALL WEEK. 91 OR NOON TEMPERATURE. MOSTLY SUNNY. IT’S GOING TO FEEL MORE LIKE 99 AND THEN MID AND UPPER 90S IN THE AFTERNOON. YOU SEE THOSE HOURS IN RED, YET. NOTE THE HEAT INDEX IS 110 DEGREES. SO IF YOU HAVE TO DO ANY KIND OF WORK OUTSIDE, TRY TO DO IT EARLIER IN THE DAY, OR MAYBE DELAY IT UNTIL THE EVENING WHEN IT’S JUST NOT AS HOT OUTSIDE. SO THAT’S WHAT WE’LL SEE MORE ON TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND THURSDAY. OUR TWO HOTTEST DAYS, TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. THEN WE’LL BE AT 100 DEGREES THE NEXT AND MAY EVEN REACH 100 DEGREES ON WEDNESDAY. THERE’S A COLD FRONT COMING ON THURSDAY, BUT IT WON’T DROP OUR TEMPERATURES DOWN AS MUCH. IT’S NOT LIKE A COLD FRONT THAT WE USUALLY SEE IN THE FALL, WINTER OR SPRING. IT’S MORE OF A WIND SHIFT. HUMIDITY WILL STAY HIGH. TOO ON THURSDAY. THEN THE HEAT INDEX COULD STILL REACH 110. BUT ON FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND WE’LL GET DOWN TO THE LOWER 90S. SO IT’S A LITTLE COOLER. NOT A BIG DROP IN TEMPERATURES, BUT IT TAKES A LITTLE OF THAT SEVERITY OVER THE WEEKEND. BUT NEXT WEEK TEMPERATURES WILL GO UP AGAIN. AND YOU SAW THAT. IT SEEMS TO BE PRETTY DRY, SO THE CHANCE OF RAIN WILL STAY PRETTY LOW. THE NEXT FEW DAYS ARE 10% ANY DAY OR ANY. THERE COULD BE AN OCCASIONS OF A SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM HERE, BUT OVERALL IT’S HOT. IT’S DRY. LATE IN THE WEEK. HIGHEST TEMPERATURES WILL SHIFT WEST AGAIN OVER THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS AND CLOSER TO THE WEST COAST. COOLER AIR WILL TRY TO MOVE IN OVER THE GREAT LAKES. WE ARE SPLIT BETWEEN THOSE TWO AIR MASSES, WHICH MEANS IT WILL NOT BE QUITE AS HOT LATE IN THIS WEEK, BUT WE’LL STILL BE IN THE HIGH 90S SO IT’S MORE LIKELY TO BE HOT AS WE COMBAT THE HEAT. So make sure you take it easy in the afternoon, keep your pets hydrated and cool, because I mentioned that the hottest temperatures are moving west, but we
