Teenager rapes sister after watching porn and strangles her in front of mother

Horrifying details have emerged in the case of the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl in the Indian state of Rewa. Police found that the minor was sexually abused by her teenage brother after she watched porn on her mobile phone, before he strangled her to death.

The investigation revealed that her mother and his two older sisters helped him cover up the gruesome incident that occurred on April 24.

“On April 24, a nine-year-old girl was raped and strangled within the premises of Jawa police station. The police filed a complaint and started an investigation. The victim’s body was found in the courtyard of her house where she was sleeping at the time of the incident,” said police commissioner Vivek Singh.

The 13-year-old boy, his mother and his two older sisters, aged 17 and 18, were arrested after intense interrogations in which they admitted to helping in the cover-up.

Their questioning revealed that the boy had slept next to the victim that night and raped her after watching porn on his phone. The boy strangled her when she threatened to complain to her father, the official said.

He then woke up his mother and informed her about the incident. When she found her daughter still alive, the boy strangled her again. Her two sisters, who had woken up by now, switched places in bed to deceive investigators, Singh said.

He said the boy and his accused family members had been arrested and legal action was being taken.

In order to mislead the investigation, they claimed that the girl had been bitten by a poisonous insect. They even took her body to a private doctor. When he turned them away, they took her body to a government doctor, who said the cause of death was rape and murder.

The police found no sign of anyone entering the house and the family too denied hearing any such noise. “After collecting technical evidence and questioning 50 people, the police found that the statements of the family members had repeatedly changed. Based on suspicion, they were interrogated intensively after which they confessed to the crime,” news agency PTI quoted Mr Singh as saying.
