‘They hit me, punched me and left me covered in blood’: Asian woman attacked by drug addict in NYC

Running Lao, a 30-year-old Chinese woman, was attacked by a drug addict in New York and suffered trauma.

New York: A 30-year-old Chinese woman was allegedly attacked by a drug addict on a street in New York in front of a City of Long Island Restaurant with an umbrella, NYC Post reported. The incident, captured in a video, went viral on social media, in which the woman recounted the horrific details of the alleged attack at her as she left the Chipotle near the corner Purves Steert and Jackson Avenue on the afternoon of July 17 at approximately 1 p.m.

The defendant, identified as Asriana Garcia of Queens (34), allegedly grabbed Lao’s umbrella, broke it in half and hit her with it, leaving her covered in blood. Lao added: “The umbrella is not very sturdy, but that kind of surprised me.”
