Man arrested in Florida after Berkshire prosecutor accused him of sexually abusing a minor

A man accused of sexually abusing a minor was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court last week after being arrested in Florida, the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office said.

Omar Soto-Rincon is charged with one count of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14, prosecutors said in a news release. He was arrested by Broward County police after prosecutors filed charges and subsequently returned to Massachusetts by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Soto-Rincon was held on $5,000 bail during his arraignment, prosecutors said. A pretrial hearing in his case is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025.
