Columbus police confirm skeletal remains have been identified as missing man from 2020

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Human remains found near Woodruff Farm Road in November 2021 are now those of 60-year-old John Craft.

Craft was first reported missing in June 2020 and another attempt to find him was released in July 2022.

According to police, DNA samples were collected from Craft’s brother on June 10, 2021. On Thursday, May 9, CPD was able to match the DNA to the remains.

Investigators said there was no evidence of foul play in John Craft’s death and the case is now considered closed.
