Motorcyclist dies after collision with semi-trailer in southwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a semi-trailer in the southwest valley Friday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred on Sunset Road and Jones Boulevard around 5:40 a.m.

Details of the crash were not immediately available, but police confirmed to FOX5 that a semi-truck and a motorcycle were involved. The semi-truck driver was still at the scene. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police assume that there was no health impairment in this accident, but the investigation is still ongoing.

The intersection will remain closed during the investigation and cleanup. Police expect the closure to last several hours.
