Son and father arrested after man found dead in Mendota cornfield

MENDOTA, Calif. (KFSN) – A father and son were arrested in connection with the killing of a Mendota man.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Javier Medina, known as Juju, faces murder charges after investigators identified him as the prime suspect in the crime.

His father, 61-year-old Javier Medina, was arrested for aiding and abetting murder.

There was also an arrest warrant against him for child abuse.

On the morning of July 5, officers found 37-year-old Antonio Torres Ochoa dead in a cornfield in the area of ​​Shield and Fairfax, east of Mendota.

Investigators say the suspect and victim knew each other, but they are still working to determine the motive for the crime.
