GBI Investigating Deputy-Involved Shooting in Atlanta – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a shooting involving a Fulton County sheriff’s deputy.

The shooting happened Tuesday night on Delmar Lane NW in Atlanta.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy went to 3219 Delmar Lane NW, where they shot a suspect who was fleeing.

A stolen car chased by a police officer crashed into a power pole in front of a house on the street.

The suspect got out of the car and pointed a gun at the deputy, who then shot him.

The sheriff’s department confirms that one person in the car was injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The suspect is alive and in custody.

The suspect’s condition is not yet known.

The MP was not injured in the shooting.

The GBI is on scene and investigating.
