According to police, a man was attacked during the move from Shreveport City Jail to CCC

CADDO PARISH, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – A prison guard at the Shreveport City Jail was attacked Saturday by a man who was being taken to the Caddo Correctional Facility.

According to a press release from SPD, 33-year-old Sammy Powell allegedly became angry and refused to cooperate with prison staff. He reportedly threatened prison staff on several occasions and allegedly attacked a prison guard before others subdued him.

In addition to his original arrest, Powell faces charges of assault on a police officer, threatening a public official and resisting an officer.

The prison guard was not injured in the incident.
