NHTSA initiates recall investigation for Jeep Wrangler vehicles

The National Highway and Traffic Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into Jeep Wrangler vehicles.

Jeep Wrangler is owned by Stellantis, a division of Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA US LLC).

In the investigation released on July 5, the administration stated that approximately 94,275 of the 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE PHEV vehicles experienced a loss of propulsion. The administration released an Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) investigation that identified 68 Vehicle Owner Questionnaire reports for the Jeep Wranglers.

According to NHTSA, the owner typically submits questionnaire reports online by contacting the Vehicle Safety Hotline or completing this online form: https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#inde.

The first recall for Jeep Wrangler occurred 2 years ago

On November 23, 2022, a recall was issued for 62,909 of its 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. In the recall, the automaker stated that the vehicles could experience engine failure due to a loss of communication.
