Woman accidentally prints lottery ticket – and is the winner

A Nebraska woman who won a major lottery jackpot for the second time in five years owes her winnings to misprinted tickets.

Lori Sailors of Lincoln won $220,000 at the Nebraska Lottery’s According to a press release from the Nebraska Lottery, the Nebraska Pick 5 game will take place on June 22nd.

According to the Nebraska Lottery, Sailors purchased her ticket at Casey’s General Store in Lincoln and three quick plays for the drawing.

But the ticket that was printed out at the time was actually a mistake, she told the Nebraska Lottery. She bought it anyway.

“I don’t let the mistakes slide,” she told the Nebraska Lottery. “I don’t just let them lie.”

One of the numbers on the ticket matched all five numbers on “Nebraska Pick 5,” which won her the jackpot.

And while this story is incredible enough in itself, it’s actually not the first time Sailors has won a huge lottery prize by buying the wrong ticket.

In 2019, she won a $54,000 Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot on a ticket that was also printed by mistake, the Nebraska Lottery said.

The sailor told the Nebraska Lottery that she and her husband Monte intend to use their winnings to pay off their daughter’s debts. Student loans and put the rest on the bench.

“Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska’s unique lottery game“All Nebraska Pick 5 proceeds stay in Nebraska and all winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery retail locations,” the Nebraska Lottery website states.

Each bet costs $1. The player chooses five numbers between 1 and 40, or a computer can choose the numbers automatically.

The jackpots for each game start at $50,000 and increase by $10,000 each time there is no winner. The current jackpot is $180,000.

The Nebraska Pick 5 numbers are drawn seven days a week.

According to the lottery, the chance of winning the jackpot is 1 in 658,008, while the chance of winning any prize is 1 in 9.2.
