18-year-old drowns while swimming in Haverhill Pond, police say – Boston 25 News

HAVERHILL, Massachusetts – An 18-year-old drowned while swimming in a pond in Haverhill on Sunday, police said.

Haverhill police and firefighters were called to Plug Pond on Sunday afternoon after someone reported the disappearance of the swimming teenager in the water.

The body of the 18-year-old man was recovered by water search and rescue teams, Haverhill police said.

According to police, the teenager’s family was with him at the pond.

The drowning victim could not be immediately identified.
