2-month-old baby found unconscious in Sacramento dies in hospital; death investigation ongoing

SACRAMENTO – Crime scene investigators were called Saturday afternoon to investigate the death of a two-month-old baby in Sacramento.

Sacramento police responded to the 1600 block of W. El Camino Avenue around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a call that a two-month-old baby was not breathing.

Within minutes, police and firefighters found the child unconscious and not breathing, police said. The child’s parents were with the victim when police arrived.

The child was given medical attention and taken to hospital where he died, police said.

Police said detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the investigation. They will examine the crime scene, speak to witnesses and collect evidence. No further information was available.
