Police seek information on driver in hit-and-run in Independence

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri (KCTV) – Police are searching for the driver who struck a pedestrian in an Independence, Missouri neighborhood over the weekend and then sped away.

Independence, Missouri police said emergency crews were called to the area between 24th Street and Claremont Avenue near the D&D Flea Market on Saturday afternoon, July 6, for reports of a hit-and-run accident.

When emergency responders arrived, they said they found that a vehicle in the area had struck a pedestrian and sped away before emergency responders could arrive.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver involved in the crash is asked to report the accident to Independence police at 816-836-3600. No further details, including the extent of the victim’s injuries, were released.
