Israel’s war against Gaza live: 27 dead in Israeli wave of attacks on enclave | News on the Israel-Palestine conflict

Pro-Palestinian protesters demonstrated outside Brad Schneider’s office on Capitol Hill on Thursday and tore down signs depicting Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, which the Democratic congressman called a “heinous act of hatred.”

The posters featured photographs of over 100 people, including eight US citizens, captured in Gaza during the October 7 attack on southern Israel.

Schneider, a vocal supporter of Israel, posted a photo on social media of the crumpled posters on the ground outside his office.

“This was a shameful act on any day, but especially on July 4, our country’s Independence Day,” said Schneider, who is Jewish and represents a suburban district north of Chicago.
