Norwalk van driver arrested after child left in city vehicle – NBC Connecticut

Norwalk police have made an arrest following an incident in May in which a 6-year-old child was found sleeping in an official city vehicle

On May 15, police said they received a call that the child had not returned home from an afternoon activity sponsored by the Norwalk Housing Authority.

The police were able to locate the minivan in the housing authority parking lot and found the child sleeping inside.

After an investigation, police said they arrested Vladimir Galette, 47, of Stamford and charged him with second-degree reckless endangerment.

According to police, Galette did not properly check the van for occupants before parking it in the parking lot, a violation of housing authority protocols.

The arrest took place on July 4th.
