Drake took subtle jabs at Rick Ross over the weekend after the rapper was attacked in Canada for playing Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”

The 48-year-old rapper was performing at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver, Canada, when he decided to end his set with “Not Like Us,” a diss track aimed at Drake.

He got into a heated argument with a man who eventually hit him on the head, which led to a brief fight.

Toronto-based Instagram blogger Keep6ixSolid noticed that Drake liked the video, but otherwise the rapper did not comment publicly.

Ross seemed unfazed by the attack, telling TMZ on Monday that no one on his team was seriously injured.

Toronto-based Instagram blogger Keep6ixSolid noted that Drake liked the video, although the rapper has not publicly said otherwise.

A spokesperson for Ross also told the outlet, “Vancouver is a beautiful city and he can’t wait to return.”

Ross has not acknowledged the brawl on social media, although he did share a snap of himself in front of his private jet on Monday.

“Vancouver, it was fun. See you next time,” he said in the caption of his Instagram story post.

Aside from liking a social media post, some believe Drake may have made a very subtle reference to Ross in a new Instagram Story post.

Monday is Canada Day – a federal holiday celebrating the founding of the Canadian Confederation on July 1, 1867.

Drake posted a Toronto Raptors T-shirt in his Instagram story on Monday and wished his 146 million Instagram followers a happy Canada Day.

However, when he said, “Happy Canada Day everyone,” he started giggling for some reason.

Some speculated that he was laughing about the attack on Ross in his home country on the eve of Canada Day.

Drake and Los Angeles native Kendrick Lamar have been involved in a rivalry for over a decade.

While Kendrick had previously opened for Drake, he insulted Drake and other rappers in Big Sean’s 2013 song “Control.”

Kendrick insisted it was merely “friendly competition” and both Drake and Kendrick have downplayed reports of a feud between them over the years.

That changed in March 2024, when Drake released “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole, in which he referred to himself, Cole and Kendrick as the “big three” – the three best rappers of the moment.

Kendrick hit back with his own song “Like That” featuring Metro Boomin and Future, in which he rapped, “Motherf**k the big three, n***a, it’s just big me.”

A lot of diss tracks from both sides, including “Not Like Us,” in which Kendrick accuses Drake of being a pedophile.

Lamar made headlines last month at a Juneteenth concert where he joined members of the Bloods and Crips gangs onstage and sang “Not Like Us” five times in a row.
