Man killed in early morning shooting

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (WAFB) – Baton Rouge police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead early Monday morning, July 1.

Police identified the victim as Byron Irving, 36.

According to BRPD, the shooting occurred around 2:45 a.m. on N. Donmoor Avenue near Goya Avenue.

A relative called the emergency services for help and shortly before they arrived, shots were fired, according to police.

According to police, Irving was found at the scene with numerous gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.

The motive and suspect are currently unknown.
