One dead and a child flown to hospital by helicopter after a possible accident under the influence of alcohol

MILWAUKEE – A 61-year-old Saukville man died in a car crash suspected of being caused by drunken driving and a child was seriously injured in the town of Plymouth Sunday afternoon.

The victim, from Saukville, was pronounced dead at the scene and the 12-year-old passenger in his Hyundai was transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee for treatment of his injuries.

A 53-year-old Plymouth man was driving a GMC pickup truck west on Highway 67 and turned south onto County Road S, where he collided with the Hyundai, according to a news release from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.

SCSO is investigating the incident and will not release further information until Monday.

Assisting with the incident were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Plymouth Police Department, Greenbush Fire Department, Plymouth Jaws for Life, Elkhart Lake First Responders, Glenbeulah First Responders, Orange Cross Ambulance and the Sheboygan County Highway Department.
