Officers responded to the collision at 30th Street East and Columbia Way (Avenue M) around 9:50 a.m.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2020 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Columbia Way when a 2008 Ford Mustang made a left turn onto 30th Street East from eastbound Columbia Way and the two vehicles collided at the intersection.

The passenger in the Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

A woman driving an SUV was killed in a collision with a large truck in Lancaster on Wednesday.

The collision occurred around 3:15 a.m. at Avenue H and 10th Street West, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials reported.

The woman was driving a Ford Expedition north on 10th Street West and reportedly failed to stop at a red light at the Avenue H intersection.

The tractor-trailer and trailer, traveling east on Avenue H, crossed the intersection and collided with the passenger side of the Ford, sheriff’s officials reported.

There was initially no information available about the identity of the woman who died at the scene.

It is unknown whether speed, alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
