Shootings in Lancaster: 2 dead after 3 separate incidents within 2 hours

LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) – Two people were killed in three separate shootings in Lancaster and authorities were trying to determine Wednesday whether the incidents are related.

The shootings occurred within a period of about two hours and all within a few kilometers of each other.

The violence began around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday near an apartment complex at Avenue J8 and 30th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The male victim in that incident is said to be in stable condition and cooperating with investigators.

About an hour later, a man was shot on Sierra Highway near Avenue H8. Details of that shooting were not available, but authorities said the victim died at the hospital.

At around 9:30 p.m., another man was shot near a Chevron gas station on East Avenue L. This victim also died in the hospital.

Investigators are checking whether there is a connection between the three shootings.

No arrests were made and a description of the suspect was not available.
