Waupaca police arrest one person after standoff

WAUPACA, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was taken into custody Saturday night following a standoff between police in Waupaca County.

According to Waupaca Police, officers were dispatched to North State Street around 8:45 p.m. for a domestic dispute.

When police arrived, they heard a gunshot, followed shortly after by another. Information was gathered that a man with firearms was in the house and that a police officer had threatened to commit suicide.

The officers contacted the man by telephone and told him to calm down. He eventually left the apartment and was arrested without further incident.
