16-year-old girl sexually abused, suspect arrested: police

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 19-year-old man was arrested earlier this week for the alleged kidnapping and assault of an underage female, South San Francisco police said.

South San Francisco police said in a statement they were called to the 900 block of Nora Way around 2:40 p.m. Monday after a 16-year-old girl reported a kidnapping and sexual assault and subsequently escaped.

Police identified the suspect as Rupinder Singh, a local resident. He was found at his workplace in South San Francisco.

Singh was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual abuse of a child, false imprisonment and sexual abuse.
