Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Acres Homes by FEMA

HOUSTON (KIAH) – As Houston and surrounding areas prepare for more storms and continue to recover from recent storms and flooding, FEMA has just opened a disaster recovery center in Houston at the Acres Home Multi-Service Center located at 6719 W. Montgomery Houston, TX. 77091.

Recovery centers offered by FEMA are used to assist homeowners, renters, private nonprofit organizations, and businesses with physical damage. Disaster victims who have insurance are encouraged to apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance immediately and not wait for payment. Duplicate payments are not allowed by insurance companies, but your recovery process can begin by providing financial assistance and connecting victims with resources from the SBA and other agencies.

Important points to remember about FEMA assistance:

  • Victims can receive benefits if you own or rent your home
  • You can apply in person, online, or through the FEMA hotline
  • You can begin your journey to recovery immediately. Don’t wait for a FEMA inspector to get started. FEMA inspectors will work to assess the damage and upload all receipts and photos from the storm.

To complete an online application, visit the Disaster Hotline here or call the FEMA Customer Service Center at 800-621-3362.
