100 Black Men in America Visited by Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The 100 Black Men of America conference underway in Atlanta is receiving a visit from Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday.

On Friday, Harris will participate in a moderated conversation at the organization’s 38th annual conference, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

Next week, the first woman and first person of color to hold America’s second-highest job will return to Atlanta to join GRAMMY-nominated artist and philanthropist Quavo for a conversation at the first-ever Rocket Summit Foundation which will take place on rapper Takeoff’s campus. birthday. This follows a September conversation at the White House in which Harris and Quavo discussed ways to advance common-sense gun safety policies.

Takeoff – real name Kirsnick Khari Ball and born in Lawrenceville, Georgia – was the youngest member of the hip hop group Migos along with his uncle, Quavo. On November 1, 2022, Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston, Texas.

Harris’ last visit to Atlanta was in late April, when she kicked off the administration’s “economic opportunity tour.”
