Grandparents of missing Kentucky toddler Miya Rudd arrested on warrant

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky State Police said the maternal grandparents of a missing 8-month-old in Ohio County were arrested Wednesday on warrants.

Officials say Miya Rudd’s grandparents, Taletha and David Tucker, were arrested on Leitchfield Road while authorities investigated the disappearance of Rudd, who was reported missing last week after a welfare check. Authorities say the two grandparents were arrested on warrants unrelated to the infant’s disappearance.

According to KSP, no further clues were found after the arrest. Police also stated that three of Tesla Tucker’s children were also in the house at the time of the arrest.

Miya Rudd’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, were arrested last week at an Owensboro motel, but their eight-month-old child was not with them at the time of the arrest. Officials say the two did not cooperate with the search. They and Miya’s grandfather, Ricky Smith, have been charged with several counts, including child abandonment and abuse.

This is an evolving story.
