DEEP responds to a multi-vehicle accident on I-84 in Plainville

PLAINVILLE, CT (WFSB) – A three-vehicle crash closed several lanes of westbound Interstate 84 in Plainville Wednesday morning.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the three left lanes between exits 35 and 33 were closed.

The accident involved a tractor trailer and two other vehicles. It happened near the Route 72 interchange.

The first report came around 10:45 a.m

According to state police, minor injuries were reported and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was called to assist in the cleanup effort.
