Roseburg police arrested a man on Tuesday for stealing a car.

An RPD report stated that at 7:10 p.m., officers responded to two separate calls involving attempted thefts in the 2100 and 2700 blocks of Northwest Stewart Parkway that resulted in damage to door locks and ignition. Both incidents were captured on video.

The suspect was a man driving a crew cab truck. The vehicle was spotted leaving the business premises in the 3300 block of Northwest Aviation Drive. He was eventually stopped by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office near the fish ladder in Winchester. The driver was identified as the suspect and arrested without incident. The truck he was driving was stolen in California and had changed license plates.

Nicholas Norris, 33, of Sacramento, California, was charged with two counts of unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, and first- and second-degree criminal damage to property. Norris was jailed without bail and released early Wednesday.
