Sicelo Buthelezi is criticized by a fan for playing a rapist

Sicelo Buthelezi is challenged by a fan for the role of a rapist. Most of our local actors master their roles so perfectly that it looks like they are playing themselves. Unfortunately, this can have dire consequences, especially when it comes to the role of a villain.

We still remember how Generations Actresses Pamela Nomvete and Katlego Danke were attacked by fans because of their roles. Skeem Saam Actresses Lerato Marabe and Helen Bright were also victims of assault because of their roles. Another actor from Skeem SaamVusi Leremi was once reprimanded by an old woman from his neighbourhood for being “drunk” on the show. We also have Nkanyiso Makhanya, Zonke Mchunu and many others who shared their horrific experiences with viewers.

Sicelo Buthelezi has just joined the club. The award-winning actor and musician recently joined Skeem Saam plays Toby Maswahla. Toby is a mischievous guy and is in trouble from the start. This time, however, he is in even deeper trouble as he slept with Ntswake without her consent. He probably assumed that since they were dating, it was a given that she would sleep with him. Now Toby is in trouble for rape and has just been held in a police cell.

Sicelo handles the role brilliantly, but unfortunately he pays a high price for it. Recently, he was called a rapist by a guy in a gas station. Although it’s just acting, the comment left Sicelo feeling weird.

“Just walked into a garage and the guy next in line greeted me and said, “Eyy ke wena rapist ya #SkeemSaam” I kind of felt something inside me, hey… I’m just an actor bro…”, Sicelo witnessed this ordeal.
