Two family members die in road accident near Chennai | Chennai News

CHENNAI: Two members of a Chennai family died and five others were injured when a truck rammed their car on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway near Chengalpet on Friday morning.

The accident occurred when the family members from Valasaravakkam in Chennai were returning from a visit to Melmalayanur Temple in Villupuram district.

Travelling in the car were Vinoth, 33, of Valasaravakkam, his wife Bhuvana, 30, his son Sachin, 7, his daughter Sibika, 3, his grandmother Parvathi, 70, his mother Shanthi, 50, and his relative Ramani, 50.

When they reached Padalam, a truck tried to overtake the car. The truck hit the car from behind. On impact, the car went out of control and overturned.

Sachin and Parvathi died at the scene of the accident. Others sustained injuries.
