3 dead in car crash in Kelso

KELSO, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating a motor vehicle accident that killed three people in Kelso.

On April 30 at 8:37 p.m., Jamesha S. Berryman, 31, was driving north on Pacific Avenue, crossed the center line and struck a second car head-on near the intersection of Columbia Street. Berryman was pronounced dead at the scene, WSP said.

The two passengers in Berryman’s car were airlifted but died in hospital. According to WSP, both men were not wearing seatbelts. Their names will be released to the public once their families are notified.

The driver of the other car, 41-year-old Benjermen R. Day, was injured; His passenger, 35-year-old Joshua D. Cissel, refused first aid at the scene, WSP said.

It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
