Two dead in serious accident involving sedan and truck on Highway 405 in Culver City

CULVER CITY, CA (June 3, 2024)Clifton Gore Jr. was one of two people killed in a fire accident in Culver City early Friday morning, May 31.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on the 405 Freeway near National Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Prius and a truck collided, causing the Prius to burst into flames.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and worked quickly to extinguish the fire.

Sadly, a man and a woman died at the scene of the accident.

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner identified the man as 74-year-old Clifton Gore Jr. The woman’s identity has not yet been determined.

The CHP issued a SigAlert for the area and closed all northbound lanes of the highway for several hours while the accident investigation took place.

The cause of the crash and the factors involved are currently still being investigated.
