Chase in Caddo, driver arrested

CADDO PARISH, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – This afternoon, two police departments, the Vivian Police Department and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested a car thief after a chase.

According to the press release, Caddo Sheriff’s officers were called at 3:20 p.m. to assist Vivian police in arresting the Buick driver.


The Vivian officer spotted the stolen 2013 white Buick Lacrosse traveling 100 miles per hour north on Highway 1.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) explains that the chase ended when the Buick turned onto Highway 168 and crashed on a curve.

Shreveport Police reported the vehicle stolen and a firearm was seized from the car during the incident.

CPSO reports that the suspect’s identity is currently unknown and he was flown by helicopter to Ochsner Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
