Mass shooting in Savannah: Two more suspects arrested

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Jordan Jones, 20, and Cazare Cooper, 18, wanted in connection with the May 18 Ellis Square shooting, have been arrested, according to jail records.

According to records, Cazare and Jones were arrested by the Savannah Police Department (SPD) on May 30 and are being held without bail at the Chatham County Jail. The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Jail Records Division confirmed to News 3 that Cazares and Jones’ case report numbers match those of the Ellis Square shooting under the direction of the Savannah Police Department (SPD).


Jones is charged with four counts of aggravated assault (participation in a crime) and four counts of possession of a weapon during a crime. According to jail records, he was arrested in 2023 on several charges, including speeding and reckless driving.

Cooper is charged with four counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during a crime. Chatham County jail records show he has been arrested twice before, once in 2022 on charges including theft and drug possession and once in 2023 on charges of trespassing and obstructing police.
