One dead and one injured after high-speed crash in Richmond County.

AUGUSTA (WJBF) – The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on I-520 westbound at the Wheeler Road exit.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, another was taken to hospital by emergency services.

The vehicle was traveling west on I-520 at a high rate of speed and left the road, rolled several times and struck a light pole.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
