Man arrested for murder in Arizona

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for the murder of a Mohave Valley man.

On March 29 at approximately 11:55 p.m., MCSO officers responded to a report of a homicide in the 10,000 block of South Tropics Road. When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as 33-year-old Matthew Brant Cempter of Mohave Valley, dead.


The MCSO later identified the suspect as Michael Edward Kelso and offered a reward for information leading to his whereabouts.

On Tuesday, May 28, the MCSO found Kelso in Williams, Arizona, and the U.S. Marshals took him into custody. Kelso was taken to the Coconino County Detention Center, where he will remain until he is able to return to Mohave County. He is charged with second-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, according to the MCSO.
