New York City is developing a new program to helping migrants, he puts them up in hotels in the Buffalo area moving into apartments, Gothamist reports.

The news agency said New York City hopes to work with Jewish Family Services of Western New York to help more than 500 migrants find more permanent — and cheaper — housing. The nonprofit agency would also help migrants find work and apply for asylum, Gothamist reports.

The arrangement is similar to one previously suggested by Sen. Sean Ryan of Buffalo, who was involved in talks leading to the new program, according to the report.
