Former Jaguars kicker at center of sexual assault lawsuit – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A former Jacksonville Jaguars player has been sued by Action News Jax.

On Monday we first reported that Brandon McManus was accused of sexually harassing flight attendants on a group flight to London last year.

The indictment alleges that the former football player was drunk. He is accused of handing out $100 bills to encourage flight attendants to drink and dance inappropriately.

One victim stated that she was targeted because she did not want to participate.

Dale Carson, legal and security expert at Action News Jax, said that because this is a civil lawsuit, it could take some time to see an outcome.

“There will be a lot of negotiation between the sides and ultimately they will probably reach an agreement,” Carson said.

The women are demanding more than a million dollars and a jury trial.

Carson said that even if McManus is found innocent, just mentioning the lawsuit could damage his career.

“An allegation of this nature can obviously impact a man’s career and have potentially devastating consequences for him,” Carson said.

Action News Jax has reached out to McManus’ agent, his current team and the Jaguars for comment.

A Jags spokesperson told us, among other things:

“We are aware of the complaint and recognize the significance of the allegations.”

A spokesman for his new team, the Washington Commanders, said they were informed of the lawsuit on Monday and said: “We take allegations of this nature very seriously and are investigating the matter.”

The plaintiffs in this case are represented by attorney Tony Buzbee. Buzbee represented clients who accused NFL quarterback Deshawn Watson of sexual misconduct. He also filed a $750 million lawsuit against rapper Travis Scott on behalf of 120 victims of the stampede at the Astroworld Festival.
