Man hospitalized after near-drowning in hotel pool | City of Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, Pennsylvania – A man was taken by ambulance to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Sunday after he nearly drowned at the Holiday Inn Johnstown-Downtown.

Firefighters from the Johnstown Fire Department were dispatched to the hotel at 250 Market Street around noon Sunday and arrived within two minutes, said Assistant Fire Chief Jim Boyle.

When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old male patient outside the pool and a passerby performing CPR, he said.

Firefighters took over the task of continuing CPR until Upper Yoder Township ambulances arrived.

Boyle said he had no update on the patient’s condition as of Monday afternoon.
